Decluttering Checklist
This year I set myself the goal to donate more to those in need. I had several ideas for how I’d make that happen but here is a really simple one: Decluttering. If you're anything like me, the mere thought of decluttering sends you into a state of overwhelm and dread. Yes, you want to reap the benefits of a clean house. (Don't we all?) But the onerous task has you doubting your stamina, your adulting abilities, and frankly, the Pinterest mood boards you created after you watched Maria Kondo. Don’t worry, you're not alone.
If you're about to delve into the dark waters of decluttering, consider this template your liferaft. I created a list of items to work through in preparation for my first trip to the donation box. I am working in two-week sprints and I only focus on one room at a time.
And I think you should join me!
Here's why:
a) I realized how many items I had accumulated— things I could totally live without.
b) I discovered my inner Marie-Kondo and wanted to keep going each time I finished a room.
c) It was an easy way to “do good” at the same time.
What’s included in the template?
-
Don't leave any room unturned:
This checklist covers items you can donate, sell or toss in each room. -
Make calculated decisions:
It allows you to audit the clutter in each room and make a decision on what to do with it so you can take bulk action. -
Turn it into a side hustle:
It includes a nifty section to support the resale of any of your items. Here you will be able to price, list, and tag items you want to sell on other platforms.
You'll never need to write another decluttering attack plan again!
